After earning her degree in interior design from Northern Illinois University, Roger and Jan met and married; she soon began singing and playing electric bass in church for several years. Jan is in the contemporary gospel group Giggin' for God along with Roger as well as playing bluegrass in the Banister Family Bluegrass Band.
